Cars in German City Discovered Smeared with Swastikas in Human Blood, Police State

Officers mentioned they were alerted by a resident who found a automobile in Hanau marked with reddish fluid

Roughly fifty vehicles have been smeared with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the German municipality of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, as reported by police.

Vehicles, walls and postboxes were marked, sometimes with prohibited symbols, they stated in a official communication.

Police state they were contacted late on Wednesday evening, when a resident discovered that a car in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been covered with a red-colored liquid.

The fluid had been applied in the pattern of a swastika, they stated.

Police then found many other marked automobiles and house walls in the surrounding area.

Nazi symbols are prohibited in Germany under legislation prohibiting the public display of Nazi-era symbols.

Police say initial examinations suggest the substance was likely blood from a person.

"There is still no indication as to its source; authorities are presently not informed of any harm in connection with the occurrence," they added.

City officials announced they were trying "to resolve the incident" and have requested to the public for tips.

A senior official stated the attack rendered him without words and needed to be addressed rapidly.

"This incident hits the center of Hanau and reopens the wounds of the far-right violent incident five years ago," he stated on social media, mentioning the killing of nine victims by a assailant focusing on people of foreign heritage in February 2020.
